Anecdotes

I read this anecdote somewhere and I still have been unable to find it so I am going to just write the story as I remember it.

For all intensive purposes I am going to call this anecdote "The Bucking Horse"

Three martial arts students were learning self-defense from their teacher. Before they started their training, their teacher was talking to them about how they need to learn the basics. He gave them the following scenario: All of them were walking down a path and they come across a bucking horse. The teacher then asked each of the three what they would do.

The first student said that he would take the horse's reins and calm it by using force. Their teacher disapproved.

The second student said that he would vault over the horse and keep walking. Still, their teacher disapproved.

The third student said that he would go out of his way to find another path to walk on that goes around the horse. Their teacher looked at the third student saying that he fully understands what self-defense means.
